Paraguay member firm Berkemeyer Attorneys & Counselors announced that Luis A. Breuer, Partner of the firm, has been elected President of the Board of Paraguayan-American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham Paraguay) for the 2010-2011 term. The Amcham Paraguay was founded in 1981 as a member of the international Amcham community, with the goals of promoting free commerce between Paraguay and the United States and private investment in both countries based on free market principles. Today, Amcham Paraguay has more than 325 members, represented by professionals and companies from different economic sectors and responsible for a substantial percentage of the Paraguayan GDP, being the most highly regarded chamber of commerce in the country. Prior to his appointment as the Amcham President, Mr. Breuer has served as auditor, board member, Vice President 2 and Vice President 1 of such organization.
